Don’t Toss the Kids Out With the Bath Water!
Watch Kat from www.MamaKatsLosinIt.com and Kimberley discuss the two sides of mommyhood. One day with the kids can be peachy and the next day leaving us with the emotional aftermath of a tornado. What do you do to keep your mommy sanity when you know that your kids won’t always be predictable? Do you go w/the flow or lose it?

Very sweet episode! As always, I love the honesty! Yes, some days are good and some days not so good, but overall we really do have the best job in the world!
That just makes me feel better! I feel like a horrible mom for losing my temper or needing a break once in a while. So it’s great to hear reaffirming experiences straight from the mouths of other mommies. It’s not usually the sort of stuff people share with you. Lol
The Terrible Twos were a breeze. And then my son turned three. I think he has developed a multiple personality. Send wine.
I call it the terrific twos and torturous threes. I’m right here with you. So challenging.
A glass of wine always puts things in perspective! Lol! Just kidding. Great episode. I think we can all relate to losing it at one time or another. Great job ladies!!!
Yes, Kat- with the SLOW moving children! Definitely induces a lot of sighing on my part. We must walk like molasses and touch everything in our path in our way to the car. We must put one shoe on, then take it off, then put it on, then put it on the other foot- “just to see”, then put it back on.
The best, hardest, awesomest job ever.
With a one year old and a two year old I’m feeling these frustrations just about daily! Sometimes you just want to pull your hair out! lol I try and step back and put things in perspective. Usually I’m so frustrated I just wind up laughing. My wife and I have decided when we feel like we’re about to blow our lids we just start singing in a really high pitched voice! After about 20 seconds of singing like this at the top of our lungs we’re usually laughing! You know what? So are the kids!
Amazing! It was if you both were reading my mind!
I loved when you talked about your favorite moments. When our little ones are sleeping- YES! I love cuddling with my son after he falls asleep…so sweet. But then, my most favorite moment, (that I wish he will continue for his entire life) is when my son, who is now 4, puts on his charm and takes his little hands up to both my cheeks and looks in my eyes and says “Your the BEST mommy EVER”! ….ahhhh….I just melt!!
Being mother is the hardest and most amazing thing I have ever experienced. Each day my son teaches me new things about myself and shows me how fast each moment passes. One of my favorite quotes is: “There is no way to be the perfect Mother, but there are a million ways to be a great one”. This is something, I always reflect on, when I beat myself up for being short or not spending enough time with him. I just remember, there ARE a million ways to be a great mom and sometimes what makes us great moms is taking care of ourselves. Many moms, myself included, feel guilty at times for taking “me time” and not being a mommy 24/7. But if mama isnt happy- nobody is!
So, CHEERS, to the glass of wine, pedi/mani and bath that we all know is much needed but few and far between. Enjoy those moments too, because we deserve them!!!
